KWA has extensive experience in conducting DBE certifications, re-certifications, and renewals consistent with all of the requirements of federal regulations 49 CFR Parts 26 and 23 (concessionaires), including conducting site visits and full documentation, where needed. The KWA Certification Team, with years of experience preceding the implementation of most statewide Unified Certification Programs (UCPs), has been very instrumental in helping the NCDOT clear its backlog of outdated site visit reports. Also, for re-certifications and new on-site reports, KWA has helped reduce the overall “turnaround” time to one of the fastest of any UCP in the U.S. Examples of KWA’s certification experience include:
Update Site Visit Files and Reports—KWA team conducted numerous site visits of DBE firms throughout the State of North Carolina in order to rid the files of old and useless site visit reports. Such reports are often requested by out-of-state agencies.
Conduct New Certification Site Visits and Re-Certifications—KWA Team members have conducted hundreds of site visits to help determine the DBE-eligibility status of numerous minority and women-owned businesses, in several states, consistent with the requirements of 49 CFR Parts 26 and 23 (Concessionaires).
In addition, KWA has assisted in initial file set-up and electronic database directory set-up.
